Thordale Stud is a small Icelandic Horse stud situated in Shetland, United Kingdom.

The Icelandic horses are carefully chosen and originally imported from Iceland.

The horses are trained by FEIF Riding Instructor/Trainer Level 3, Bjørn Roar Larsen, to be ridden by anyone, show clear gaits and to be good competition, show or riding horses.

As well as the Icelandic Horse stud, Thordale is also home to The Minions - four rescued Shetland ponies.

Although these Shetland ponies have had a terrible start in life, they are very much part of the family, keeping everyone on their toes.

Also retained are three of the original Thordale Shetland Stud mares. These standard black Shetland pony mares have achieved Championships in the show ring as well as media stardom.

MyShetland - my Blog

This is Thordale Stud.  Also home of The Minions - 6 rescued Shetland ponies - and The Boyzenberries - 4 rescued Shetland sheep.

I write honestly about everyday life at Thordale Stud - the highs, the lows, just how it is really on my Shetland croft.
