In 2009, we were approached by Atlantic Edge Music Services to provide a location and a selection of horses and ponies for filming a Himmelblå episode on location in Shetland.

On our first day's filming, we trained both actors, Edward Schultheiss (Kim) and Sebastian Warholm (Robin) how to ride. Kim had to look like he had ridden all his life. With perseverance and incredibly well-trained Icelandic horses, we did our best.

For the horses, we used our own Icelandics, Iacs and Fakur, both very experienced in schooling and trekking but used to varying equestrian abilities, generously rising to the challenge of looking after their rider. Meanwhile filming was going on in my kitchen!

On the second day, we transported the 2 Icelandics and 6 Shetland ponies to another site for outside filming. The ponies and horses had to mill around in a field surrounding the croft house as a nice background. Kim and Robin had to ride off down the track as well. All the ponies behaved beautifully, taking a great interest in the filming whilst hogging many a shot too!

The third and last day, took us to a beach location at St Ninian's Isle. Just the Icelandics were used and we started the filming on top of a vast hill, then moved down to the beach. I rode my horse, Haakon, staying behind the scenes, ready to grab anyone getting out of control.

Everyone behaved remarkably well and I think the actors and crew liked meeting our gang! We certainly enjoyed ourselves.

2010 - BBC Scotland & Timeline Films - we worked with Timeline Films on the following documentary.

"Written and presented by Paul Murton, the series is inspired by a Victorian copy of Black's Picturesque Guidebook, which has been in Paul's family for generations.

Over six different journeys, he discovers why tourism flourished, and experiences the dubious pleasures of early tourist transport: a horse-drawn carriage, a paddle steamer, a tricycle, a steam train, and a Shetland pony all help him get out and about."

From Wikipedia - "Himmelblå (in English: Skyblue) is a Norwegian drama series which currently airs on NRK1 in Norway and on SVT in Sweden. It is based on the British TV drama Two Thousand Acres of Sky."

There are over 1.3 million viewers.

We enjoy working in the film and television industry with our horses and ponies. All our animals are safe and calm, being used to cameras and microphones swinging about. They do not react. If you want well-trained animals for filming, please contact us. We can and do travel, are totally self-sufficient (we bring our own accommodation for all of us) and are used to the long hours for retakes.
