Winnie the Poo is our gorgeous Icelandic x Fjord horse. Just 6 years old (born 2002), and standing at 14hh, Winnie is a striking mare with good conformation and a surprisinginly long stride for her breeding. Forward-going and willing, she is happy to be ridden and always wants to please. Winnie appreciates a quiet business-like rider and has been started slowly with an emphasis on good manners and behaviour. She would not be suitable for a beginner or novice as she is still learning. Easy to catch, shoe and handle in every respect. She has never kicked or bitten and has a very loving nature. Her mother is a wonderful, exceptionally kind registered Icelandic mare (Saela from Mountblairy) and her father is Glendine Troy, a sweet natured registered Fjord Horse whose action is stunning. Winnie has not shown any of the unique Icelandic gaits but, while she is developing her balance when ridden, this should not be ruled out. Gaited horses can often be slow in developing. A good dooer, Winnie lives out all year, even in a Shetland winter with no problem or concerns. A sociable mare who enjoys the herd environment and has not shown any mareish tendancies. This honest lady has no hidden agenda, she genuinely likes people and other horses. We are looking for a permanent knowledgeable home for this lovely mare. |
